I'm pulled a Rickey Lake, I took a looooong break but now I'm coming back. Its a lot going on in celeb world so naturally I have a lot to say. So sue me *shrug*.
Let's get down to business. All the who's who of celebrityville came out last night for Anna Wintour's Gala at the MET honoring Alexander McQueen. Now I know this is supposed to be a "costume" party-but some people went above and beyond.
Exhibit A: Andre Leon Talley....I can't--not now, not ever with this outfit. Grown ass man in somebody's overgrown choir robe!!! Anna get ya boy please!
W-T-F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!As I look at this all I picture "Oh when the saints go marching in"...He thought he was marching up to the pearly gates...SMH...
Serena Williams...*sigh* You really tried it with this Touch by an Angel look. Who's fairy godmother were you trying be?!?! Lookin like Glenda the black witch from Wizard of Oz. You're doing too much. The Royal wedding was last week-enough with the hat.
Eva honey my grandmother wants her drapes back!
Fergie you're giving me Bride of Star Trek. And by the look on your face, even you can't believe you walked out like this. This would've actually been a good look minus the life-size shoulder pads.
This was not Chanel Iman's best look. Boring and a tad bit on the older side for someone so young. She definitely needed something more youthful looking. Off to sip high-tea w/ the queen perhaps?
Zoe, girl I love you but this just wasn't it. *yawns* at this outfit. From the side this looked like a frock. Wonder if she's prego? Doubt it but just sayin
Rosario Dawson- the only thing I really liked about this dress was the back. And the hair ....the messy ponytail look isn't working AT ALL!
I see nobody decided to pull Cassie to the side and go over the dresscode for a Gala. Cassie girl I know you're still young but anytime you see the word Gala on an invite leave your club attire at home. You're way underdressed for this event.
Kerry looked radiant. Lovin the fresh spring look.
Baaaag Laddyyyy (in my Erykah Badu voice)...Remember Cicely Tyson's character in "Eve's Bayou"??? Well Naomi damn sure nailed it last night! Naomi you scare me in this outfit.
This dress was EVERYTHING on Rih-Rih. The hair would've looked better swept up or long curls vs the long braid. She should've switched hairstylist with Ciara because hers wasn't working for me either.
Ciara was by far had one of my fav looks of the night minus the hair and the cuff. Neither worked with this gown. Makeup is flawless!
Solange was my choice for BEST dressed of the night. I loved everything about this look. The hair, the makeup, the dress!!! She slays hands down!
Happy couples A. Keys & Swiss Beatz and Melo & Lala. Still looking like they're in that honeymoon phase....loves them!
And for this very reason is why I chose Solange over Lady Bey for Best Dressed. I can only imagine how tight this Lil Mermaid gown must've been. Dress was stunning but she lost brownie points by not being able to walk in it. It was like watching Oprah in her Christian Louboutins. Just sit, don't move and look purty.
