Head of Oprah's OWN Network gets FIRED!!!!

Seems like Donald isn't the only one firing people these days. Lady O just released Christina Norman of her duties as the Head of OWN. Norman, former president of MTV, joined OWN in January of 2009.

Oprah released an email to the OWN staff today that said:

"Ms. Nroman's hard work, passion and leadership were instrumental in getting OWN on the air,"..."Given all that we have to do, the OWN Board felt it was necessary that we have a different kind of leadership in place for the next phase of OWN's growth."

Its been said for months that the networks ratings have been slipping. Apparently Ms. Norman is the second person to have held the role. I guess bringing Sherri Salata over was out of the question. Hope Lady O gets the right person for the job. Hey I'm available :-)

Rihanna's performance on Oprah

So Rihanna is one of the many starts that will be performing this Friday for "Hope for Haiti". Here she is her performance from today's Oprah's show where she sung a Bob Marley song. Quite appropriate for the occasion I must say.

RHIANNA & MAXWELL PERFORM ON OPRAH TOMORROW

Lady O is finally having her take on the situation in Haiti. She's bringing Maxwell and Grammy award-winner and trendsetter Rihanna to perform tomorrow. Wonder what hits each artist will perform??? I'm doubt Oprah and Rihanna will get to do some couch time since the show is geared towards Haiti.
Oprah's also going to talk to Wyclef about what he's witnessed while in Haiti.

TYRA'S STEPPING DOWN!!!

After 5 years, Tyra Banks is stepping down from her role as a talk show host. The show is set to wrap up this coming Spring. Tyra told People magazine she will be focusing on the launch of her film production company "Bankable Productions" and also taking huge steps to "reach more women and young girls".

To me personally sounds like Tyra's giving the old cliche answer of "moving on to better things" aka get out or be put out. As a fan of Tyra's it hurts me to say that her show hasn't been the greatest. In 5 years I expected more. Grant it she's on during a time slot when the competition is steep-you've got Ellen at 3 o'clock and Oprah at 4 o'clock. Between Tyra and Oprah's viewers Ellen and Wendy's shows are about to blow through the roof. Not that Ellen needs much help but lets see how well Wendy Williams does with all these changes in daytime talk. Wendy has had a strong come out with her show and hopefully in time the guest will get better (we all know Wendy doesn't have the best rep w/ celebs). The crazy thing is she's more entertaining to watch versus Tyra that does have A-list celebs, larger budget and a much better looking studio.

Kudos to Tyra for stepping down ever so fiercefully. We wish her well.

"PRECIOUS" MOVIE TRAILER

If you guys haven't read the book yet, then I do recommend you read the book and then watch the movie when it comes out on November 6th, 2009. It will help you appreciate the movie more. Sad to say there are probably young females that live in this type of environment today. Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry brought words to the screen.

OPRAH IN TEXAS?? WHAAAT!!

OPRAH (yeah umm for some reason I feel the need to put her name in caps! lol) will tape her 10 am show at the State Fair of Texas ( Dallas) on Monday October 12th. If you're in Dallas, you going?

I came across the pic of Oprah and thought it was interesting how she holds her own Umbrella, yet, alot of these other "SUPERSTARS" have someone hold their umbrella for them....I mean it's just something I had to say~
